Project Description: Terminal 2, Dublin Airport – Baggage Conveyor System
H&F Electrical Contractors Ltd was appointed to deliver the electrical and control
services for the baggage conveyor system at Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2 (T2). The project
encompassed the supply, installation, and commissioning of electrical and control
services to support approximately 6,500 metres of baggage conveyor and its ancillary
systems.
Each section of the conveyor, ranging in length from 0.5m to 10m, required precise wiring and integration with the Building Management System (BMS) and safety control systems. To achieve this, H&F developed detailed 3D drawings for every conveyor section, ensuring the exact electrical services layout was meticulously coordinated with the conveyor and mechanical specialists.
Systems Installed by H&F:
- Electrical Services Installation: Supporting approximately 6,500 metres of baggage conveyor and ancillary systems.
- Power Supply Systems: Ensuring reliable operation across all conveyor sections.
- Control Systems: Enabling automated operation and monitoring of the baggage system.
- Building Management System (BMS) Integration
: Connecting the conveyor system to centralised management for operational efficiency. - Safety Control Systems: Ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards.
- 3D Coordination and Drawings: Producing precise layouts for electrical services after detailed collaboration with conveyor and mechanical specialists.
This large-scale and complex project demonstrates H&F’s ability to deliver high-quality
electrical solutions for critical infrastructure, meeting the demanding standards and
operational requirements of Dublin Airport.
